Helga Lázár

Theater

Born in Hungary in 1993, she studied theatre directing at the Academy of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest (SZFE), puppet theatre at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and theatre studies at the Free University Berlin. She lives in Leipzig and has worked as a puppeteer, director and stage designer in Germany, Hungary and Serbia both in the independent scene and in state theatres. Since 2018, she has been a guest lecturer at the SZFE Budapest, where she began her doctorate in art science in 2020. In her dissertation, she deals with the body concepts in the puppet theatre. In her artistic work work, she primarily explores the border areas between physical theatre and puppet theatre, and the possibilities of participatory performances and improvised actions in public space.
